Berlin

Berlin is the capital city of Germany and situated between the Havel and Spree Rivers and is only 70 kilometres from the Polish border. It has a population of approximately 3.5 million people and considered as one of the most important cities of the European Union.

Berlin has 2 airports, the Schönefeld and the Tegel, but the airports that are most frequently used are those very near to Berlin in the cities of Frankfurt and Munich. The Berlin metro is one of the most modern in Europe and together with the "S-Bahn" train, forms a part of a good urban transport network.

Berlin is renowned for being the headquarters of various very important events and spectaculars. The Berlin International Festival of Literature, the Love Parade which is a Techno music Parade and the Berlin International Film Festival bring many tourists to Berlin.

The most important places that you should visit are the Berlin Wall, the Brandenburg Gate, the German Parliament, the Kaiser William Memorial Church, the Historical Centre of Berlin, "Alexanderplatz" and the Holocaust Memorial.
